Google is releasing night mode to phones based on Android Go and Nokia 1.3 is likely to get this new upgrade first. Android Go is a stripped-down version of Android stock designed for low-end smartphones that comes with lower RAM and processing efficiency. Previously, phones with the Android Go operating system did not have night mode, but with the latest news made by the search giant on Twitter, the feature will be available in compatible phones soon.
Recently, Google announced through its Android account (@Android) on Twitter that Camera Go App which is a preinstalled camera app on Android Go phones has got a dedicated night mode option. The feature is releasing now and phones running on Android Go should get it in the form of an over-the-air (OTA) update. The short clip in the tweet also tells that HDR support on Camera Go app will be added later this year.
Night mode on Camera Go uses burst photography without a flash to capture multiple photos simultaneously. These photos are merged together to create bright and sharp photo.
Chief product officer at Nokia-licensee HMD Global, Juho Sarvikas, tweeted that Nokia 1.3 will be receiving night mode with Camera Go. Nokia 1.3 may be the first mobile based on Android Go to get this feature. Till now, it is uncertain by when Nokia 1.3 users will be able to use this dedicated night mode feature. Other Nokia smartphones with Android Go will also be getting this feature but the exact timeline has not been revealed yet.
Along with Nokia phones, other smartphones running Android Go may also get the latest night mode. As of now, it is available for Nokia 1.3, Wiko Y61, and Wiko Y81.
