These companies will run private trains in the country, Railways finalized names!
The names of those companies have started to be decided by who will run private trains in the country. The Indian Railways March has targeted to run private trains on the tracks from 2023. For this, 12 trains will be started, after this, by 2027, Railways will run 151 such trains. For this, the railways had invited applications from private companies.
Bids for private trains in 2 phases
Let us tell you that companies are being selected for running private trains in a transparent manner under a two-stage bidding process. The first stage is Request For Qualification (RFQ) and the second is Request For Proposal (RFP). Railways had received 120 applications from 16 private companies for running passenger trains, out of which 102 applications have been found eligible for the next stage i.e. Request For Proposal (RFP). Some of which are big names.
Great response from companies for private trains
The list of RFQs for 12 clusters has been released on 1 July 2020. Private investment of up to Rs 30,000 crore is expected in this project of running private trains. Applications were invited for RFP on 7 October 2020. Railways have received excellent responses from private companies for this project.

- Welspun Enterprise Ltd.
Apart from this, the companies which have given applications for this cluster include Arvind Aviation, BHEL, Construcciones y Auxiliar de Ferrocarriles, S.A, Malempati Power Private Ltd, Cube Highways and Infrastructure III Pvt Ltd.
