Biden created all-female communication team, Bharatvanshi Neera as well
President-Elect Joe Biden will deploy the All-Female Senior Communication Team in the US. The team will be led by Kate Bedingfield. She will be the Communications Director of the White House. Biden has decided to appoint longtime Democratic Party spokeswoman Jane Saki as her press secretary. At the same time, Bharatvanshi Neera Tanden has also been given important responsibility in administration.
Biden issued a statement saying – It is the responsibility of the President to keep direct and correct communication with the people of America. This team has the responsibility of connecting the White House with the American people. I trust it will survive this. Qualified and experienced communicators of the team will work on different aspects. All will join the mission to make America better again.
Bharatvanshi Neera will monitor policies
A source close to the deployment said that the Indian national Neera Tanden would be given the responsibility of overseeing the implementation of Biden’s policies. He is the President and CEO of a think tank called Center for American Progress.
All three women have been posted in the Obama administration
All three senior women officers posted to the White House have also served in the Obama administration. Bedingfield was his communications director and spokesperson while Biden was vice-president. Saki was the communications director and spokesperson at the State Department of the White House. Tandon served as Senior Advisor to the then Health and Human Secretary Kathleen Sebelius.
More women will get a place in the administration
Biden’s office said he would hold his first presidential intelligence briefing on Monday. They can also deploy women directors for management and budget office.
Talking about the other women in the team, Karine Jean-Pierre, who was the Chief of Staff of Vice President-Elect, will be the principal deputy press secretary of Biden. At the same time, Pili Tobar will be made the deputy communications director of the White House. Along with this, Cecilia Rouse can be given the responsibility of the Council of Economic Advisors.
According to sources, Wally Adeyemo could be made deputy to the Treasury Department. Economists Jared Bernstein and Heather Boushey can be made economic advisors. Here, the New York Times quoted sources as saying that Biden has decided to make Bryan Dees head of the White House National Economic Council.
