FADA, ASDC partnered with Google India, training to more than 1 lakh employees
The Automotive Skills Development Council (ASDC) and the Federation of Automobile Dealers Association (FADA) have joined hands with Google to lead the industry’s digital transformation. The goal of this partnership is to digitally train more than 1 lakh employees at 20,000 auto dealerships across the country.
Google India is offering digital marketing, YouTube channel for hyper-local meetings and webinar training for other online platforms as part of its ‘Grow with Google’ training program.
Tough times for all: ASDC
Nikunj Sanghi, President, Automotive Skills Development Council (ASDC), said, “We are collectively experiencing an unprecedented time. Our relationship has gone digital due to the Covid-19. Redistribution to existing skills will play a major role when needed and as we re-enter the new world. We need to train the entire ecosystem to use digital devices and monitor their efficiency. So to maintain market continuity, both ASDC and FADA are doing this with the help of Google.
Must come out of old tradition: FADA
FADA President, Vinkesh Gulati said during the webinar, “Product marketing and services have changed locally with new channels of technology and communication. The tradition of relying on inserts, banners and small print advertisements to gain exposure. It is centuries old. Today Jio-location targeting, hyper-local marketing and other digital marketing technologies have revolutionized the ad industry. FADA is committed to giving mobility to the auto industry with the help of digital platforms. Google wants to prepare dealers for upcoming games through ASDC-FADA webinars.
Covid drives away customers
Nikhil Bansal, Automotive Head, Google India, said, “Through the offline efforts in the last few years, the shopping window has become smaller. The average number of dealerships in India is 50% lower than the three years last year from 2016 to 2019.”
He further added, “Now, the Covid-19 has undermined customers’ desire to visit car dealerships. In such a situation, opening online auto windows for business recovery will encourage them. We are helping to digitalize our dealership network. We are now working together with ASDC and FADA to create a digital ecosystem for auto dealers.”
