Promoting cyber security, data protection is essential for financial inclusion: RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das

Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Shaktikanta Das said on Wednesday that it is necessary to resolve issues related to cyber security and data protection. They have called it essential for financial inclusion. He said that removing the problems related to cyber security will create confidence in the use of technology among such people who are still untouched by it. Addressing a program, he said, ‘Technology can prove to be very helpful. Also, some parts of society may stay out due to this.

Das stressed that appropriate steps need to be taken to maintain cyber security, data confidentiality and customer protection. He said that proper financial education needs to be imparted through proper financial education and awareness.

The RBI governor said that the inclusion of an active new generation of the workforce on digital mediums and the end of the division of cities and villages due to social media can see a considerable increase in financial inclusion in the coming years.
