To meet the target, the currency press is being printed continuously in this currency press, not even a holiday on Sunday!
In order to meet the target of printing the note for this financial year, the currency note press of Nashik has started working on Sunday also on holiday. Many denominations notes are printed in this press, which is a unit of the Government’s Security Printing and Minting Corporation of India Limited (SPMCIL). The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has set a target to print a total of 510 crore currency notes in this financial year.
A source said that the third quarter of this financial year is also coming to an end and Nashik’s currency note press has just met its 50 percent target. That is, the target it was given, it has been able to print only half of its notes. One major reason for this is that the currency note press of Nashik remained completely closed for nearly two months from 22 March. Printing work in this currency note press started in the second fortnight of May with very few people.
The currency note press has met the target of printing 100 rupees and 50 rupee notes. Currently, it is printing 500 and 20 rupee notes and soon printing of 200 rupees and 10 rupee notes will also start here. Let there be a total of four note presses in the country, of which two are from SPMCIL and two are from Reserve Bank of India and one of them is Nashik’s Press. The second unit of SPMCIL is at Dewas in Madhya Pradesh. At the same time, two units of Reserve Bank of India are from Mysore in Karnataka and Salboni from West Bengal.
