Aim to double agricultural plant mechanization in the next 10 years; Farmers of the country will benefit
Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Rural Development, Panchayat Raj and Food Processing Industry, Narendra Singh Tomar said on Monday that 95 percent of agricultural devices are being manufactured in the country and the goal is to double mechanization per hectare within 10 years for the development of the agriculture sector. The Union Minister said that on the call of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, there is an atmosphere of enthusiasm towards the Vocal for Local in the country. In this case, the field of farm mechanization is already engaged in local production and about 95 percent of machines are being made in the country itself.
The income of 86 percent of farmers of the country will increase
Agriculture Minister Tomar, as the chief guest at the AGM of the Tractor and Mechanization Association (TMA) annual general meeting, said in his address on the subject of farm mechanization that the government’s emphasis is on providing expensive and large advanced agricultural machinery to the farmers’ fields. He urged the members of the association to provide small utility machines to small acreage farmers, so that 86 percent of the small farmers of the country can take advantage of them and their income should increase.
Will help to increase the ratio of agricultural power
He informed that the scheme of submission on agricultural mechanization has been implemented in all the states, so as to promote the use of agricultural mechanization and increase the ratio of agricultural power. Tomar said that through this scheme, the government has also emphasized to provide expensive and large advanced agricultural equipment to the farmers’ fields on the basis of rent. There is a provision of subsidy up to 40% of the project cost to the individual farmer, while up to 80% of the subsidy is given to the group of farmers, the maximum amount of which can be up to Rs 10 lakh.
