India-Japan approval for skilled workers participation agreement, know how to benefit

The Union Cabinet on Wednesday approved the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOC) between India and Japan on the participation of ‘designated skilled workers’. According to the official statement, the proposal to this effect was approved in the meeting of the Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The institutional mechanism will be established between India and Japan

This Memorandum of Understanding is in relation to laying the basic framework of participation for the proper operation of the system in relation to the scheduled skilled workers. The statement said that under this cooperation memorandum, an institutional mechanism for cooperation between India and Japan would be established. Under this, such skilled Indian workers will be sent to work in 14 specified areas in Japan who have passed the Japanese language examination along with obtaining the mandatory skills qualification. It states that these Indian workers will be provided with a new social status (‘designated skilled worker’) by the Government of Japan.

Joint task force will be formed

Under this, a Joint Task Force will be formed which will ensure compliance with this Cooperation MoU. The Memorandum of Understanding will enhance the interaction between the people of India and Japan and help in sending workers and skilled professionals from India to Japan.

Employment opportunities for skilled Indians in 14 sectors

It states that with this Cooperation Memorandum of Understanding (MOC), nursing care, cleaning of buildings, materials processing industry, industrial machinery manufacturing industry, electronic and electronic information related to industries, construction, shipbuilding and ship-related industries, maintenance of vehicles, employment opportunities in Japan will be created for skilled Indian workers in 14 sectors such as aviation, providing temporary housing, agriculture, fisheries, food and beverage manufacturing industries and catering service industries.
