Duplicate goods being prepared in Bhopal, Ayurvedic medicine company filed FIR
The owner of a company that manufactures Ayurvedic medicines has filed a case against Amazon in Gurgaon. The company alleges that Amazon is selling duplicate products of its company on its site.
Company owner lost 5 crores
The complainant Devendra Singh alleged that he contacted Amazon several times and alerted them about duplicate products. But despite repeated mailings, they took no action. Not only this, they did not even reply to my mail. He claimed that he had lost Rs 5 crore due to duplicate products.
A case of fraud filed against Amazon following Singh’s complaint, an FIR has been filed against Amazon under Section 420 (cheating) and Section 63 (copyright violation) of the IPC. According to Police Commissioner KK Rao, counterfeit products are being manufactured in Bhopal.
Amazon: Legal action will be taken after examining the claim
An Amazon India spokesperson said, “Our customers expect that when they shop through Amazon, they will get the right and original products. Amazon strictly prohibits the sale of counterfeit products. We do not claim any counterfeit product. We conduct thorough examination of the items, including the removal of the item and taking legal action against it as appropriate. ”
