Wikipedia has created a new code of conduct, will tighten the misinformation
Wikipedia, a site identified as the Encyclopedia of the Internet world, has created a Universal Code of Conduct (Code of Conduct) to prevent misinformation, objectionable articles. The new code of conduct has been released by the Wikimedia Foundation. Let me tell you that Wikimedia Foundation only runs Wikipedia. Regarding the new policy, the Foundation has said that the new policy aims to prevent content manipulation, misinformation and abuses on the platform.
Regarding the new code of conduct, the Foundation’s Chief Executive Officer Katherine Mehr said in a statement, ‘Our new code of conduct has been prepared for the new Internet era. Through this Code, we want to make our platform positive and secure.
Regarding the code of conduct, the company says that it will be an important part of our project to deal with harassment, abuse of power and deliberate attempts to manipulate facts. This code of conduct of 1,600 words has also been prepared by 1,500 people associated with Wikipedia.
The new code of conduct has been prepared in 30 languages. This code of conduct of Wikipedia is part of the pressure being placed on Internet companies over misinformation and monopolies. Please tell that Wikipedia has completed its 20 years only on 15 January. As a celebration of 20 years, the company has launched the website 20.wikipedia.org.
Wikipedia is available in 300 languages in the world and has about 2,80,000 content providers/editors attached to it. India ranks fifth in terms of usage of Wikipedia. They get 75 crore page views per month from India. Wikipedia is among the top 15 websites in the world.
