Now Google will give mobile phone heart rate feature, users will be able to focus on fitness at all times

The two most important things to assess health and well-being are heart rate and respiratory rate. The good thing is that now you will be able to keep an eye on these two all the time through your mobile phone. Google is working on a special feature and with the help of this feature, users will be able to measure heart rate and respiratory rate using their cell phones. Google can roll out this feature next month and these features will be available in the Pixel phone through the Google Fit app.

According to the report, the respiratory rate is detected through some subtle movements in the chest to measure the respiratory rate and for this, the smartphone camera uses a computer vision known as optical flow. At the same time, subtle color changes in the fingertip are detected using the smartphone camera for heart rate.

Shwetak Patel, director of Google Health, says that ‘Google Fit will allow you to measure your heart rate and respiratory rate using your phone’s camera. These features will be available in the Google Fit app for Pixel phones which is planned to expand to more Android devices.’ He also said that from next month Google Fit will allow you to measure heart rate and respiratory rate using your phone’s camera.

Patel says that ‘to measure your respiratory rate, you only need to keep your head and upper house in view of the front-facing camera of your phone and then breathe normally. At the same time, to measure the heart rate one just has to place his finger on the rear-facing camera lens. It has also been clarified by the company that this feature is not for evaluating medical conditions.
