Amazon becomes part of self-sufficient India, will produce fire tv stick in the country
The e-commerce site Amazon has announced its first manufacturing unit in India. The Amazon manufacturing unit will be set up in Chennai and Tamil Nadu. Both of these plants will be the first to produce the Amazon Fire TV Stick device. The company has also announced a billion-dollar investment for both these units.
Amazon has said that with these two plants, it is now a part of Make in India and self-sufficient India. In these two, 10 lakh people will get jobs by 2025. Production will begin at the Chennai plant by the end of this year.
The company has partnered with Cloud Network Technology to produce Fire Stick in India. Explain that it is a subsidiary of Foxconn. The announcement was made in the presence of Amazon India Senior President Amit Aggarwal and Union Minister of Information and Technology Ravi Shankar Prasad.
In a meeting with Amazon, Ravi Shankar Prasad said, “India is a major investment country in terms of investment, which is poised as a production hub for electronics-IT products. Our government’s Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme has received a tremendous response globally. We welcome this decision by Amazon. This will boost domestic production and also create new jobs.”
