Jaggery products of UP will earn name all over the world, Yogi government has made complete preparations
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath says that the jaggery product of the state will get a new identity in the world. He said that apart from expanding facilities to increase agricultural production, the government is making tireless efforts to double the income of farmers by making products available to a wider market. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said after inaugurating the ‘Rajya Gur Mahotsav -2021‘ organized at Lucknow Indira Gandhi Pratishthan on Saturday, that Khandsari Jaggery is becoming a new brand today and it is bringing a huge positive change in the life of sugarcane growing farmers. The state government has identified jaggery and jaggery products as specific products for three districts – Muzaffarnagar, Ayodhya and Lakhimpur Kheri under ‘One District, One Product Scheme’. This is making the jaggery business beneficial for sugarcane farmers. He also released the souvenir ‘Rajya Gur Mahotsav-2021’.
In a government statement issued here, it said that the ‘Rajya Gur Mahotsav-2021’ was organized with the aim of making the availability of market for local sugarcane products, branding of products and increasing their business in the country and for the benefit of sugarcane growers and businessmen. The Rajya Gur Mahotsav is bringing change opportunities in the lives of 60 lakh sugarcane farmers of the state.
Online license to Khandsari Industry
The Chief Minister said that when the present government came to power, the sugarcane price of farmers in large amounts was outstanding. The Khandsari industry was completely banned, but the present government made a system of giving licenses to the Khandsari industry online. Due to this, a large number of Khandsari industries have been established in the sugarcane-dominated districts Muzaffarnagar, Shamli, Bijnor, Ayodhya, Shahjahanpur, Lakhimpur Kheri and the farmers growing sugarcane are benefiting from it.
Yogi said that till now the sugarcane farmers have been paid a sugarcane value of more than one lakh 25 thousand 600 crores. During the Corona period, when sugar mills were being closed in other states, the operation of all the sugar mills of the state was ensured. More than 52 percent of the current year’s sugarcane price has been paid.
Ongoing efforts to get sugarcane farmers out of crisis
Addressing the program, the Minister for Sugarcane Development and Sugar Industry, Suresh Rana said that the Chief Minister has illuminated the name of the state not only in the country but in the whole world. He worked to get the sugarcane farmers out of the crisis. He said that the Rajya Gur Mahotsav has been organized to make sugarcane farmers market their produce.
Addressing the program, Additional Chief Secretary Sugar Industry and Sugarcane Development Sanjay Bhoosreddy said that along with the sugar industry, the Khandsari industry has also been promoted in the interest of 60 lakh sugarcane farmers of the state. There are 103 jaggery growers and traders showcasing their products at the Rajya Gur Mahotsava. More than 750 sugarcane farmers and jaggery growers have also been trained on the occasion.
