Korean Telecom will develop AI service in collaboration with LG, work on consumer products
South Korean company LG is now planning to develop Artificial Intelligence (AI) powered service. The company said that it will work with South Korean telecom operator KT Corporation on this. The two companies will expand the human-like algorithm. Please tell that LG has announced to close its mobile business completely.
After announcing the closure of its mobile business, LG plans to commercialize services supporting the AI platform from both companies to develop interfaces. The two companies have recently validated for LG’s ThinQ and KT’s GiGA Genie AI platform.
Will work on consumer products with KT
According to a news agency, LG has tested its Smart Mirror to find out if its smart home solutions can work with KT’s AI platform, which provides radio, music and other digital services. LG said that Smart Mirror is expected to be an AI service hub at home, but will expand to other consumer electronics products in collaboration with KT. LG is one of the world’s largest home appliance manufacturers.
LG closes smartphone business
LG Electronics has announced to cease manufacturing and sale of smartphones. It is expected that the company will stop manufacturing and selling smartphones after July 31. LG is going to shut down its mobile division as part of a strategy to shut down the loss business. If this happens, LG will become the first smartphone company to withdraw from the smartphone market.
Mobile business incurred losses of $4.5 billion
