Breaking in the data of upstox’s customers! Know what the company said
The retail broking company Upstox has alerted its customers about breach in security. The blown data may include contact with consumers and Know Your Customer (KYC) details. However, at the same time, the company has assured that the customers’ funds and securities are fully secured. The developments have come amid reports of a data breach in organizations such as MobiKwik, Facebook and LinkedIn.
A company spokesperson replied in an email, “After receiving an email claiming claims of unauthorized access to our database, we duped a leading international cybersecurity company into KYC data kept in a third-party data warehouse system and have asked the investigation. The spokesperson said that this morning, hackers have put samples of our data on the dark web. The spokesperson said the company has taken a number of security measures, particularly in its third-party warehouse, as part of the measures taken immediately.
Security priority
The spokesperson said that with caution, we have redesigned the password in a secure way for all the upstox users via OTP. Upstox makes the safety of its customers a top priority. The spokesperson said, “The funds and securities of all Upstox’s customers are protected. We have reported the incident to the concerned authorities.”
