Hero Motors Company set up new factory in Ludhiana

Punjab Industries Minister Sunder Sham Arora inaugurated the new factory of Hero Motors Company (HMC) on Tuesday. The factory has been set up in a high-tech cycle valley near the city. Earlier, the minister inaugurated an 8.5-km-long and 100-foot-wide road connecting the Cycle Valley to Chandigarh Road. It has cost Rs 66 crore.

Pankaj  Munjal, Chairman and Managing Director of Hero Motors Company, said on the occasion that Cycle Valley is a key element in the establishment of HMC’s global engineering and manufacturing chain, with research and development facilities in Europe and manufacturing in India.

He said that the new factory is important in terms of Hero Motors Company’s goal of making India a global manufacturing hub in the field of premium bicycles and e-bicycles.

Munjal said that the production capacity of HMC will increase to 10 million units per annum from this factory. This includes the production of 40 lakh premium bicycles and e-bicycles.
