Big deal between Flipkart and Adani Group, 2500 people will get employment
The country’s largest e-commerce company Flipkart has joined hands with Adani Group to strengthen its logistics and data center capabilities. This will provide direct employment to about 2,500 people.
The company said in a statement, “Under this two-way partnership, Flipkart will work closely with Adani Logistics Limited, a wholly subsidiary of Adani Ports Limited and Special Economic Zone Limited, to strengthen the supply chain infrastructure and provide customers faster services.
5.34 lakh square feet center will be built
Apart from this, Flipkart will set up its third data center at AdaniConneX plant in Chennai. AdaniConnex is a joint venture between EdgeConnex and Adani Enterprises Limited. Under this partnership, Adani Logistics Limited will build a 5.34 lakh square feet center at its upcoming logistics hub in Mumbai, which will be leased to Flipkart to meet the growing demand for e-commerce in Western India.
Small and medium businesses will benefit
The center will be equipped with state-of-the-art technologies and is expected to be operational in the third quarter of 2022. This center will have the capacity to hold one crore units available for sale. This partnership will not only strengthen the supply chain of Flipkart, but will also help small and medium businesses. Along with this, about 2,500 people will get direct employment and thousands of indirectly available jobs.
This deal is in line with self-reliant India!
On this deal, Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) CEO Karan Adani said, “I see two of India’s fastest-growing businesses coming together to help build the most important and best infrastructure. This is in line with self-reliant India.”

Karan said, “This partnership is unique for the logistics and data center business and will help in meeting the physical and digital infrastructure needs of Flipkart.” On the other hand, Kalyan Krishnamurthy, Chief Executive Officer of Flipkart Group, said, “Adani Group is unmatched in building infrastructure across India. We have come together because of the unique combination of capabilities in logistics, real estate, green energy and data center infrastructure.”
