Google working with Reliance Jio, will launch cheap smartphone in India

Google CEO Sundar Pichai said on Thursday that cooperation between Google and Reliance Jio to develop cheap smartphones is going on at a fast pace. Pichai said in a virtual conference that we are focusing on making an affordable phone. We are committed to taking the project forward.

However, he did not reveal the likely date and price of this phone to be introduced. The availability of affordable smartphones along with cheaper data rates can help in making the internet accessible to more people across the country.

Sundar Pichai said, “Google is also exploring new investment opportunities with its US $10 billion Indian Digitization Fund (IDF) and some new announcements will be made later this year.” The CEO of Google said that the Corona epidemic underscored the importance of technology in people’s lives.
