US Supreme Court rejects J&J’s petition

Johnson & Johnson said that they had not given a chance to present their side properly in the court, so they approached the US Supreme Court, but the Supreme Court also rejected the company’s petition, after which Johnson & Johnson will now have to pay Rs 15500 crore to women as compensation.

This case has been recorded in the history of America. St. Louis’s jury had ordered $25 million to be paid to every woman as compensation, that is, each woman would get about Rs 182 crore, in addition to a separate penalty of $400 billion on the company. In such a case, it became the sixth-largest case in American legal history. Although earlier the lower court had fixed compensation of $400 million, or about Rs 29,200 crore, but after the company’s appeal in the high court, it was reduced to half of $212 million.
Got justice today: Lawyer
The company still faces 26,000 lawsuits alleging that their baby powder caused cancer. After so many controversies, Johnson & Johnson had to withdraw its product from the US and Canada last year. And Johnson & Johnson was held responsible for this disease, because this disease was caused by them.
