Reliance’s AGM: Reliance may unveil Jio-Google’s cheap smartphone, price may also be announced
Smartphone manufacturing is under pressure due to the impact of smartphone supply chains and rising component prices. To counter this, billionaire Mukesh Ambani plans to capture the Indian market through locally assembled Google-powered smartphones.
Ambani’s company Reliance Industries envisioned selling millions of cheap smartphones in the first few years. But now a small part of it is aimed at launching. Reliance is going to unveil the co-branded phone at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of shareholders to be held on June 24. After this, it will have its official launch by August or September.
Internet users will cross 90 million by 2025
Sources close to the development said, India is the world’s fastest growing smartphone market. Here the number of internet users is expected to cross 90 million by 2025. The consumer here wants a smartphone with new technology which is also cheap. Engineers of Reliance and Google together have made such a smartphone. It has such a version of the Android operating system that gives the user a high-end experience without using expensive parts.
