How to find out if your Instagram account has ever been hacked
Facebook-owned photo-sharing social media platform Instagram has released a new security checkup feature. With the help of this feature of Instagram, you can check whether your Instagram account has ever been hacked or not. For this Instagram has also given some tips. Security checkups include you login activity, reviewing profiles, etc. Instagram has also introduced a new reshare sticker.
Regarding the new update, Instagram has said that Security Checkup will tell people how to keep the account safe. If a user’s account is involved in any hacking in the past or if the data of his account has been leaked, then the users will get information about it. Users will get notification of security checkup even before new login. Users of many countries can also keep their Instagram account secure through their WhatsApp account, although this feature is not currently available in India.
Is your account hacked or not?
If you want to know whether your account has been hacked or not, first of all login to your Instagram account through the app. After that go to Settings and check Login Activity. In this, you will see a list of all the devices in which your account has been recently logged in.
Keep your account safe
Two-Factor Authentication – Enable Two-Factor Authentication in Instagram account through your mobile number. You can also use Duo Mobile or Google Authentication for this.
Update e-mail and phone number – Always keep the e-mail and phone number with your account up to date. Update immediately if e-mail or phone numbers are changing.
Instagram does not send you messages – In the last several months, there have been cases that direct messages have been sent to people from Instagram’s account which was completely fake. Instagram does not send messages to its users.
Turn on Login Request – Once the login request is turned on, you will get a notification every time you login, just like you get with Gmail and Facebook. This is part of two-factor authentication. The advantage of this will be that as soon as your account is logged on any device, you will get a notification.
