Tinder CEO Jim Lanzon becomes Yahoo chief, Gowrappan will be advisor

Yahoo, the oldest platform as a search engine, has announced the name of its new chief executive officer. The position has been appointed by Jim Lanzon, who heads the dating app Tinder. After leaving the Jim, the command of Tinder will be in the hands of Rinette Nyborg. He has been appointed as the new CEO of the dating site.

Tinder CEO Jim Lanzon was proposed by investment firm Apollo as the new head of Yahoo. Apollo closed its acquisition of Yahoo from Verizon on September 1. Yahoo’s current chief executive Guru Govarappan will now serve as an advisor to the company.

Guru Gowrappan, while briefing the Yahoo staff, said that we have entered a new chapter in history and I am proud to have worked together as a senior advisor to Apollo over the past three years. Jim Lanzon will take over as the new CEO of Yahoo from September 27, 2021.

Yahoo could not stand before Google-Facebook

Yahoo group service was started in 2001. It didn’t hold up as strongly as Reddit, Google Groups and Facebook Groups. American wireless communication services company Verizon bought Yahoo’s Internet business in 2017 for $4.8 billion. Yahoo currently has seven services, which include Yahoo Search Engine, Yahoo Mail, Yahoo Entertainment, Yahoo Finance, Yahoo Lifestyle and Yahoo Mail.
