Twitter Launches Tipping Feature, Will Pay through Bitcoin

Microblogging site Twitter has launched a tipping feature for its users. In this, users will be able to receive payments through Bitcoin. Through this, there is a possibility that the content creators will benefit a lot. Twitter has been testing tipping for a few months now.

The company announced on Thursday that its Tips feature will now be available globally this week for all Apple iOS users and will be available for Android users in the coming weeks.

While users previously used common payment apps PayPal, Cash App and Venmo to take tips, Twitter has now added a Bitcoin service as well. In this, creators will be able to get tips in Bitcoin. Twitter has allowed users to add their Bitcoin address to the tip feature.

The company was testing this feature with a small group of people in the US. Now everyone will be able to send tips on the platform. A creator or anyone with a large number of followers can turn on the ‘Tips Jar’ in their profile and users will be able to send them money. This facility is already operational for payment in India, in which payment is done through Razorpay.
