New feature coming in WhatsApp, now you will be able to hide your profile photo and last seen from selected people
A new feature is going to be available in WhatsApp soon. Popular instant messaging app Android Beta is working on a new custom privacy setting for users. The app is planning to add My Contacts Except option to its privacy settings. Through this option, users will be able to hide their last seen from some people. This means you can hide your Last Seen from anyone you want. Similar option will be available for profile photo.
WhatsApp has started testing this new feature for iOS users. This means that this feature can be released for both iOS and Android users. This can be a very useful feature for WhatsApp users at this time as many people do not want everyone in their contact list to see their last seen and their profile picture. However, they are unable to do so as they have no option to hide their last seen and profile photo from some people.
Another option will be found in the privacy setting of WhatsApp
According to a report, this new custom option will be made available for the last seen and profile photos as well as for the about category. Right now 3 options are available in these categories in the app. People can select any of the 3 options Everyone, My Contact and Nobody for Profile Photo, Last Seen and About. Through these options, you can control who sees your profile picture and last seen and who does not.
Apart from this, the report also states that when you exclude a contact, the contact does not need to update the app as the server automatically manages this setting for you. So when this feature becomes available to beta testers, you will be able to quickly select certain contacts to hide your profile picture and last seen.
Currently, there is no option to hide online status in the privacy setting of the app. The app allows users to hide only blue ticks and last seen.
