Electric car sales in India increased in January and February. Electric vehicles have crossed the 1 lakh registration mark in just two months of the year. It was led by Tata Motors. Many vehicle manufacturers are now offering affordable electric cars to promote electric vehicles in the country. Here we are telling you about the best selling electric cars in the month of February.
- Tata Nexon/Tata Tigor
With a market share of 96%, Tata continues to dominate the electric cars segment. Its two electric car models – Tata Nexon EV and Tata Tigor EV – sold around 2,264 units in February, up 421% over the same month last year. Tata Nexon EV price ranges from Rs 14.29 to Rs 16.90 lakh (ex-showroom), while Tata Tigor EV price starts at Rs 11.99 lakh and goes up to Rs 13.14 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
- New MG ZS EV
MG Motor India recently launched the all-electric 2022 MG ZS EV facelift with updated exterior design, improved range and features in the Indian market. The car is already sold out for the year 2022, so the British auto maker has closed its bookings for the 2022 MG ZS EV. The company may resume bookings for the electric SUV later this year.
MG Motor has launched this car in two variants Excite and Exclusive. While the Excite variant is priced at Rs 21.99 lakh (ex-showroom), the Exclusive variant has been priced at Rs 25.88 lakh (ex-showroom). The electric car achieves a speed of 0 to 100 kmph in just 8 seconds.
- Mahindra E Verito
Mahindra’s electric sedan E Verito has witnessed a growth of 20% in February 2022 as compared to the previous year. It costs Rs 12.67 lakh and goes up to Rs 13.03 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
- BYD e6
The BYD e6 electric MPV is manufactured by BYD Auto from China, which is an exclusively B2B offering. This car can be bought only from Fleet Operators in India. The company sold 10 units of the electric MPV BYD e6 in the month of February. The car is priced at Rs 29.15 lakh (ex-showroom).
- Audi e-tron
One of the leading luxury car manufacturers, Audi launched the Audi etron in late 2021. The company sold around 7 units in February, which is more than its rivals Mercedes, Jaguar and Porsche. Audi has priced the new e-tron at Rs 1 crore and its price in India goes up to Rs 1.18 crore.
- Hyundai Kona Electric
The company managed to sell 7 units of Kona EV at par with Audi. Due to cars like Tata Nexon EV and MG ZS EV, it is getting competition in the market. Hyundai has priced the Kona Electric at Rs 23.79 Lakh, which goes up to Rs 23.98 Lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
