Air India: Tata Sons chief N Chandrasekaran gets the command of Air India, the board also made the chairman of the airline

Air India: N Chandrasekaran, chairman of Tata Sons, will also be the chairman of Air India. Aviation industry sources gave this information on Monday. According to sources, the airline’s board has approved the proposal to make Chandrasekaran the chairman of Air India. The Tata group had on October 8 last year won the bid to acquire debt-ridden state-run airline Air India. The Tata group has done this deal for Rs 18,000 crore.

Appointment approved last week

Sources said the airline’s board had approved Chandrasekaran’s appointment as chairman only last week. However, the Tata group has not yet appointed anyone for the post of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Managing Director of Air India.

Ilker Aiju turned down the offer

Tata Sons on February 14 announced the appointment of former Turkish airline chairman Ilker Ayci as the CEO and Managing Director of Air India. Expressing happiness over this appointment, Aiju also called it an honor to join Air India. But in the meantime, controversy erupted after the RSS-affiliated Swadeshi Jagran Manch opposed Aiju’s appointment. In such an environment, Aiju turned down the offer of the Tata group. Ayzu is considered close to Turkish President Erdogan.
