HDFC Bank hires 21503 people: Capgemini to recruit 60,000 employees in India, more than last year
French IT firm Capgemini has said that it is going to recruit around 60,000 employees in India this year. This number is higher than in 2021.
Increasing demand for digital solutions
The company’s CEO Ashwin Yardi has said that the demand for digital-based solutions is increasing. Because of this people are in need of more. Yardi said that globally we have about 3.25 lakh employees. Half of them are in India. He said that the new appointments would be in the form of fresher hiring and lateral talent. It will focus on emerging areas like 5G and quantum.

Capgemini launched a 5G lab in India last year in partnership with Ericsson. Yardi said that it is getting tremendous response. We are now working with some global and Indian service providers to provide more services to the 5G industry.
Good performance in 2021
Capgemini performed well in India in 2021 and its growth has increased. According to Yardi, its outlook is going to be better in the coming days, which has given us a boost to the hiring drive. The company has taken several initiatives like quarterly promotion cycles and partnerships with educational institutions to build specific skills.
India will play a big role
Last month, Capgemini Group CEO Aiman Izzat said India will play a bigger role in managing the firm’s operations going forward. It will also see emerging leaders in India who can lead teams globally. Emerging technologies such as quantum, 5G and metaverse are expected to advance.
Technology Skill Sets Evolving in India
Yardi said that many new generation technology skill sets are being developed in India or are being created from here. Similarly, Capgemini has good experience in cloud and artificial intelligence. It is building specific competencies for cyber security. Yardi said that we see a good opportunity in all of them. Our cloud and data have become more mature.
HDFC Bank has recruited 21 thousand
On the other hand, HDFC Bank, the largest private sector bank in the country, has said that it has recruited 21 thousand 503 people in the current financial year. It has increased by 90% as compared to a year ago. Its target was to recruit 26 thousand employees by the end of the year i.e. March, which can be more than this. In 2020-21, it had hired 12,931 people.
