Delhi government will set up an electronic city, 80,000 people will get employment: Sisodia
New Delhi, Mar 26 (PTI) Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Saturday proposed to set up an electronic city in the national capital, which is expected to generate around 80,000 jobs.
Sisodia, while presenting the budget for the financial year 2022-23 in the state assembly, proposed to set up an electronic city in Delhi. It will be set up in Baprola area of Delhi.
“We will set up an electronic city in Delhi’s Baprola to promote manufacturing of electronics products. This will create employment opportunities for 80,000 people,” Sisodia, who holds the charge of finance minister, said in his budget speech.
He said that this step would also encourage companies in the information technology sector to come to Delhi.
He said, “We intend to set up an electronic city for employment generation. We will also set up a 90-acre manufacturing hub to attract electronics companies to set up base in Delhi. The redevelopment of industrial areas will also create six lakh new jobs. Will be.”
Sisodia presented a budget of Rs 75,800 crore for the financial year 2022-23 in the assembly. This is 9.86 percent more than the budget of Rs 69,000 crore for the budget year 2021-22.
Terming it as ‘Employment Budget’, Sisodia said that it will create new employment opportunities in Delhi. This is the eighth consecutive budget of the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Delhi.
