FedEx New CEO: Big responsibility to another Indian in American company, six lakh workers will work at his behest

American firm FedEx, one of the world’s largest courier companies, has appointed Indian-origin Raj Subramaniam as its new CEO. Started in the year 1971, this company employs 6,00,000 employees worldwide. That is, these six lakh employees will now have to work at the behest of the Indian CEO.

Subramaniam to replace Frederick

According to the report, Raj Subramaniam will replace Frederick W Smith, who is currently holding the responsibility of the company’s chairman and CEO. Smith’s term ends on June 1. Let us inform here that Frederick W Smith is also the founder of FedEx. Talking about Raj, he said, “As we look ahead, we are very satisfied that Raj’s ability to lead the way in leading FedEx into its very successful future.”

Belongs to Thiruvananthapuram

Let us inform here that Subramaniam hails from Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala and currently lives in Memphis, Tennessee. After doing chemical engineering from IIT-Mumbai, he did his master’s degree in chemical engineering from Syracuse University. Raj also has an MBA from the University of Texas at Astin. Significantly, Raj Subramanian was inducted into the board of FedEx in 2020. The company has said that he will remain on the board. Prior to becoming President and Chief Operating Officer, Subramanian was the President and CEO of FedEx Express.

Apart from FedEx Corporation, Raj Subramaniam has also been a member of the Board of First Horizon Corporation. Apart from this, he has also handled important responsibilities in many companies. According to the report, Raj has also been honored by IIT-Mumbai for his contribution to the corporate world. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame by the Fogelman College of Business and Economics at the University of Memphis.
