Twitter’s Cricket Tab Feature: Twitter is bringing 6 types of special tabs for cricket fans, live updates will be available in one click

In India, 75% of people on Twitter have been identified as cricket fans, while 58% of these people play cricket. Between January 2021 and January 2022, 44 lakh Indians have shared 9.62 crore tweets about cricket on Twitter.

Now in view of this desire of the people, on the special occasion of IPL 2022, Twitter has started testing a new tab ‘Cricket Tab’. Under this service, the Cricket tab on the Explore page will be tested. This will be for the few people in India who use Twitter on Android. This tab will be the only destination, from here users will be able to know what is happening in cricket nowadays. With this, he will get relevant, exclusive and new information about cricket here for the first time on Twitter.

The Cricket tab will have sections like Events page, Live scorecards and Top video content

Events page: Fans will be able to get updates from the field and follow new tweets recently on a dedicated page at the top of the Cricket tab.

Live Scorecards: It is now easier to follow match scores on Twitter. The score of the match will not only appear on the Cricket tab, but it will also be visible on the Events page.

Interactive Team Widgets: This tab will also give fans access to content widgets, such as best players and team rankings. As the match on the field takes a more interesting turn. These widgets will give the fans a blink of an eye on how their favorite players’ activity went on the field.

Top Video Content: To provide fans with a unique experience, Twitter will partner with broadcast and creator partners to provide users with the video content they want. It will include interesting moments, highlights and off-field action from the match.

Topic Tweets: Twitter uses machine learning to generate tweets based on a topic on Topics. The IPL topic will be available for the fans in the Cricket tab, so that they will be able to monitor the conversation going on here in a better way.

Twitter Lists: Fans will also be able to follow Twitter lists dedicated to their favorite teams and players. This list will allow people to follow multiple accounts with tweets on a specific topic on different timelines.

In addition, fans will be able to receive notifications about the important moments of the match, which will help them to connect with each and every interesting and talkable moment of the match, so that they will not miss any important action on the field.
