According to a report, the company may soon acquire five consumer brands. Through this, the company wants to strengthen its position in the consumer goods sector. The report quoted the company’s CEO Sunil D’Souza as saying that the company sells Tetley Tea and Eight O’Clock Coffee, while it is now seriously looking to tie up with several other companies. The company is working fast on plans to buy these brands.

It has also expanded its portfolio by taking stakes in companies such as bottled water company Norisco Beverages and cereal brand Soulful. The report said that Tata’s new move will be competitive with Reliance and Hindustan Unilever. It said that Reliance may acquire 60 small grocery and household brands in the coming six months to expand its business.
