Penalty for negligence: Vistara Airlines fined Rs 10 lakh, accused of ignoring safety rules
Airlines company Vistara has been fined Rs 10 lakh. The company has been accused of breaking the rules of safety. The Airline Aviation Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) said that without the necessary training, Vistara Airlines used to give the clearance for take-off and landing to the officer.
In fact, before onboarding the aircraft with the passenger, training is given to the officer to land the aircraft in the simulator. Similarly, before landing, the captain is trained in simulators like the officer, but the Vistara aircraft was made to land without training the officer and captain in simulators. In such a situation, there was a fear of the possibility of an accident at the time of onboarding, which is completely playing with the life of the passenger. According to the report, this negligence was found at the time of landing in Indore.
Explanation of Vistara airline on the allegation of DGCA
A Vistara spokesperson clarified the incident and said that the Supervised Take-off and Landing (STOL) of the aircraft took place in Indore in August 2021 under the supervision of an experience captain. And the pilots were fully trained and given valid STOL from the previous employer. The spokesperson further added that on Vistara, the safety and staff of the passenger has always been its first priority. Whereas the DGCA alleges that the Vistara aircraft was landed without training the officer and the captain in simulators.

SpiceJet fined Rs 10 lakh two days ago
SpiceJet was also fined Rs 10 lakh by the DGCA on May 30. In April, the DGCA had sent a show-cause notice to SpiceJet, to which it was not satisfied with the reply. In fact, in April, the DGCA barred 90 SpiceJet pilots from operating the Max aircraft after they were trained on a simulator in which the co-pilot’s side stick shaker was deactivated. The stick shaker warns the pilots when the aircraft is stalled in the middle of the air.
