Feature Article: Amazon India organizes two flagship programs to enhance machine learning skills in India
Amazon India today launched the second edition of the Machine Learning (ML) Summer School. It is an immersive program that aims to provide students with an opportunity to learn machine learning technology by scientists from Amazon and prepare them for a career in science. The course will run over four weekends in July and give students the opportunity to explore the fundamentals of machine learning including Supervised Learning, Deep Natural Networks, Sequential Models, Dimensionality Reduction, Unsupervised Learning, and two new modules, Reinforcement Learning and Casual Inference.
Will get a chance to attend the Engagement Program Amazon Research Days Conference
Participants will also get a chance to attend the Amazon Research Days (ARD) conference, an engagement program held in November every year. ARD provides links between the scientific community at Amazon, industry leaders, and academic researchers working in AI around the world.
Amazon will also host its flagship machine learning competition, the Machine Learning Challenge, in August, which gives students a unique opportunity to work on Amazon databases and come up with innovative ideas and innovative solutions to solve real-world problems. become capable. The winning teams will be included in Pre-Placement Interviews (PPIs) in Machine Learning roles at Amazon and will be awarded cash prizes, swag and certificates.
Its objective is to provide the best training on a wide range of subjects.
Rajeev Rastogi, Vice President – International Machine Learning, Amazon, said that the Amazon Machine Learning Summer School aims to provide participating students with the best of training on a wide range of topics that form the fundamentals of modern machine learning. The tutorial sessions have a fair mix of theoretical and practical knowledge and the training is provided by our machine learning scientists, who are experts in their field.
The program is a platform to develop excellence in Machine Learning and Applied Science skills among young talent. With Machine Learning Summer School, we aim to provide the necessary hands-on experience to the students and prepare them to work in the field of science.
Debarshi Chanda, IIT Guwahati (one of the winning team members of the Challenge) said that it was a great learning experience for me. It was unusual for us to work on so much real-world data, but we devised a strategy to use all of the training data. We learned many things, tried many new things. It is a memorable experience.
Top 3000 students will be enrolled for Machine Learning Summer School
Machine Learning Summer School is open to final year students of Bachelor/Masters/Integrated Masters/PhD degree. Eligible students must pass an online assessment focused on the fundamentals of machine learning and fundamentals of mathematics, such as probability, statistics, and linear algebra. In this evaluation top 3000 students will be enrolled for Machine Learning Summer School.
These students will participate in eight virtual classroom sessions over four weekends, each followed by a live Q&A session by Amazon scientists. Machine Learning Summer School participants can also take part in an Amazon Machine Learning Challenge and practice the learnings and skills gained by the modules to solve real-world problems. Registrations are underway for Amazon Machine Learning Summer School.
