E-Filing Portal Crash: Problems in Income Tax Portal built at a cost of 165 crores, department said – taking necessary steps.
Taxpayers using the e-filing portal of income tax are troubled these days. Now a statement has been issued by the Income Tax Department in this regard. On Saturday, the Income Tax Department said that software provider Infosys is ready to resolve the problems of taxpayers and is taking necessary steps.
In a tweet by the Income Tax Department, it has been said that it has been seen that taxpayers are facing difficulty in using the ITR e-filing portal. In this case, software provider Infosys has said that irregular traffic pressure is being seen on the site, necessary steps are being taken to deal with it.
It is worth noting that the new e-filing portal of new income tax www.incometax.gov.in was launched on 7 June 2021. Even at that time, taxpayers and professionals complained of irregularities and difficulties in its functioning. The contract to build this portal was given to Infosys in the year 2019.
Let us tell you that Rs 164.5 crore has been paid by the government to Infosys for setting up the new e-filing portal of the Income Tax Department.
