Income from scrap: Department of selling garbage of the office deposited Rs 62 crore in the government treasury, the minister gave information.

Union Minister Jitendra Singh has informed that the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances has contributed Rs 62 crore to the exchequer. This income was generated by the department from selling useless office items, mainly electronic items.

The Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions was addressing the concluding session of the two-day regional conference “Bringing Citizens, Entrepreneurs and Government Closer for Good Governance” in Bengaluru.

During this, the Union Minister has told that the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances not only talked about cleanliness but also took positive initiatives for it. We have earned Rs 62 crore by selling useless things in the office.

The Union Minister also said that such programs are like a new startup avenue, he hoped that the next time when the cleanliness campaign starts, many more such enterprises will come forward. He said that we have contributed Rs 62 crore to the government exchequer just by selling scrap and this has been possible due to the integrated approach in doing this work.
