NITI Aayog: Third Innovation Index released, Karnataka, Telangana and Haryana on top
In the third innovation index released by NITI Aayog, Karnataka, Telangana and Haryana are in the first three places. NITI Aayog’s India Innovation Index 2021 examines the innovation potential and ecosystem at the national level.
NITI Aayog Vice-Chairman Suman Berry released this innovation index on Thursday in the presence of Chief Executive Officer Parameswaran Iyer. According to NITI Aayog, this Innovation Index has been prepared on the lines of Global Innovation Index.
In this year’s innovation index, Karnataka is at number one for the third time in a row. Let us tell you that the first and second innovation indexes were released in October 2019 and January 2021 respectively.
According to an official statement from NITI Aayog, the third edition of the Innovation Index is based on the framework of the Global Innovation Index and strengthens the scope of innovation analysis.
In its official statement released by NITI Aayog on the Innovation Index, it has been said that this time the Innovation Index has been prepared on the basis of 66 unique indicators, while the last two innovation indices were prepared on the basis of 36 indicators.
While preparing the Innovation Index, the states and union territories of the country were divided into 17 major states, 10 north east and hill states and 9 union territories and urban states. This was done to effectively compare the performance of the states.
