Pizza Delivery: Domino’s Pizza may ban Swiggy and Zomato
Domino’s may pull out of food delivery apps Zomato and Swiggy if they increase their commissions. Jubilant Foodworks, which runs Domino’s Pizza, has given this information in a document submitted to the Competition Commission of India (CCI). Anti-competitive practices of Zomato and Swiggy are under investigation.
In April, the CCI had ordered a probe into Zomato and Swiggy on a complaint from a restaurant. In this complaint, preferential treatment, high commission and many other allegations were made. Jubilant has over 1,600 branded restaurants in India. Of these, 1,567 are from Domino’s and 28 from Dunkin’.
27% of business online
Jubilant in its reply to CCI said, 26 to 27 per cent of its business in India comes from online apps. This also includes his own mobile and website.
Reliance gains 46% more on the basis of oil and telecom
Reliance Industries posted a profit of Rs 17,955 crore in the June quarter on the back of better performance of oil and telecom. This is an increase of 46.29% as against 12,273 crore in the same period a year ago. The company said on Friday, during this period its revenue increased by 54.54 percent to Rs 2.23 lakh crore. It was 1.44 lakh crore a year ago. The company said, it has the highest ever quarter revenue in the oil-to-chemicals business.
Jio profit up 24%
Jio’s profit grew 24 per cent to Rs 4,335 crore, from Rs 3,501 crore in the same period a year ago. Its revenue grew by 21.6 per cent to Rs 21,873 crore as compared to Rs 17,994 crore a year ago.
Reliance Retail also up 51.9%
The quarter was also good for the retail business arm of Reliance Industries. Its earnings increased by 51.9 percent to 58,554 crores.
