The auction of 5G spectrum being done for the first time in India is now over. Giving information about the completion of the auction process, Telecom Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has said that during the first 5G spectrum auction in the country, 51236 Mhz spectrum out of 72098 Mhz has been sold. During the spectrum auction, companies have bid for a total spectrum of Rs 1,50,173 crore.
Reliance Jio made the highest bid in spectrum auction
After the completion of the 5G spectrum auction process, the Telecom Minister said, “Out of the total spectrum put up for auction, 71% spectrum has been sold.” Giving information, the Telecom Minister said that Reliance Jio Infocomm has won the highest bid in the spectrum auction. Reliance has purchased a total of 24,740Mhz spectrum. Reliance has placed bids for 700Mhz, 800Mhz, 1800Mhz, 3300Mhz and 26Ghz spectrum.
Airtel ranked second in the race to get 5G spectrum
Bharti Airtel was at number two in the spectrum buying spree. Bharti Airtel has purchased 19867Mhz spectrum. At the same time, Vodafone-Idea has purchased 6228Mhz spectrum. Adani Data Networks, which is making its first foray into the world of telecommunications, has bought 400Mhz spectrum by bidding for 26Ghz airwave spectrum. Government got double income from 5G auction as compared to 4G

5G services may start in the country by October
On the other hand, on the question of the launch of 5G auction, Ashwini Vaishnav said that the auction process of 5G spectrum has been completed. In the coming few days by August 12, all the formalities related to taking advance payment, approval and allotment will be completed. “We are hopeful that we will be able to launch 5G services in the country by October,” he said.
Adani Group buys 5G spectrum to build private network
