Cyber attack on Signal: Company’s claim of data leak failed, phone numbers of users reached to hacker.
After the hacking of WhatsApp, Telegram and Signal made big claims. Now Signal’s claims seem to be failing. There is news of cyber attack on Signal and in this attack, there has been news of leaking of phone numbers of about 1,900 users. Actually this cyber attack has happened on Twilio Inc which is the verification service provider of Signal.
According to the report, all the codes that are used for verification have also reached the hacker, although the hacker has not had access to the message history, profile information and contact list. Signal has claimed this in one of its blogs. In this attack, the hacker has got the data of 1,900 users.
Signal has said on this hacking that the hacker can login to someone’s account with the help of code from any other device. Twilio said earlier this month that it was helping Signal investigate the hacking. Twilio Inc.’s partners include 2,56,000 business names such as Ford Motor, Mercado Libre and HSBC.
Recently there was a big cyber attack in China in which data of 48.5 million corona patients was leaked. The hacker involved in this hacking had the username XJP and he sold the hacked data on the hacker forum for $ 4,000 i.e. about Rs 3,20,000.
