Indian IT company Infosys, which is facing allegations of gender bias, has suffered another setback. Infosys said in a communication sent to the stock exchanges on Tuesday that the company’s chairman Ravi Kumar S has resigned from his post. However, the company has not given any reason behind his move. According to reports, his resignation will be effective from October 11.
The resignation of the company’s chairman Ravi Kumar comes at a time when the company is about to announce its September quarter earnings a few days later. Apart from this, soon the company is also going to discuss the proposal of share buyback. Earlier last year, the Infosys board had approved a buyback plan of up to Rs 9,200 crore. On Tuesday, Infosys shares closed at Rs 1,465, up 0.95 per cent on the BSE.
Infosys said in a regulatory filing that the board of directors appreciated Ravi Kumar S’s contribution to the company and the services rendered by him. Ravi Kumar S, in his role as the Chairman of Infosys, led the Infosys Global Services Organization across all industry sectors. He also represented service lines and specialized digital sales across the consulting, technology, infrastructure, engineering and process verticals.

Ravi Kumar S started his career as a nuclear scientist at Bhabha Atomic Research Center. He then joined Infosys in the year 2002. He was made the chairman of the company in 2016, after 14 years of joining the company. Not only this, in the year 2017 he was also named as the Deputy COO of the company and he was also informed about this, although later Infosys removed him from the post of COO after the retirement of UB Praveen Rao. done.
