Twitter’s new ‘Chief Tweet’ Elon Musk has been fired across the board and is the only board member of the company. This has been revealed in a new filing of the Securities and Exchange Commission. According to US media reports, Musk had already planned the firing and it started from the day of Twitter takeover.
The company’s top executives were fired including former CEO Parag Agarwal, CFO Ned Sehgal and head of legal and policy, Vijaya Gadde. Musk publicly expressed his displeasure with the company’s management, saying that the company has about 10 managers for every coder.
5,600 employees may be laid off
According to a report in The Washington Post, Musk can lay off 75% of the company’s 7,500 employees, or about 5,600 employees. He had said this to potential investors during the Twitter deal. However, after this report came, Twitter’s General Counsel Sean Edget denied it. By sending an email to the employees, he said that the company is not making any plans for layoffs.
