The government may allow the use of PAN in place of other data for making applications under the National Single Window System for various clearances by central and state departments. At present there are more than 13 business IDs like EPFO, ESIC, GSTN, TIN, TAN and PAN are being used to apply.

A lot of basic data about the company, its directors, address and a lot of general data is already available with the PAN. The single window system aims to reduce duplication in the process of reporting information to various ministries, reduce compliance burden, reduce project duration and promote ease of doing business.
