GOI Calendar: Government of India’s official calendar for 2023 released, theme based on achievements of the government.
Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur on Wednesday released the official calendar of the Government of India for the year 2023. Speaking on the occasion, the Union Minister said that the calendar is a reflection of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s belief of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas. He lauded the calendar as an impressive collection of 12 images depicting India on the move in a spirited manner. He said that the 12 themes selected for 12 months in the calendar are a reflection of the public welfare schemes being run by the government.
The Information and Broadcasting Minister said that the calendar is being printed physically on paper after a gap of two years, whereas for two years the calendar was brought only in digital form. Describing it as one of the best creations of the government, Thakur said that this year the calendar is available in both digital and physical form which would be a dissemination medium to give information about the efforts and welfare measures of the government. He said that the purpose of distribution of this message is to take it to the grass root level by distributing the calendar to all the panchayats in the country.
The theme for the calendar is ‘New Year, New Resolutions’. It will be made available in 13 languages including Hindi and English and will be distributed in all government offices, Panchayati Raj Institutions, Health Centers, Navodaya and Kendriya Vidyalayas, BDOs and DM’s offices in the districts and will be procured from Public Sector Undertakings and Autonomous Institutions. will be available for A total of 11 lakh copies will be printed and 2.5 lakh copies will be distributed in regional languages to panchayats.
Thakur also reiterated the achievements of various institutions of the ministry. Prasar Bharati has decommissioned all its analogue terrestrial transmitters, with 50 transmitters expected in critical locations. While DD Free Dish has reached over 43 million homes by the beginning of 2022, various channels under Prasar Bharati have reached over 20 million subscribers. He further said that this year 75 community radio stations have been added in the country, taking the number to 397.
He further told the audience that the automation process of the Central Bureau of Communications has been completed, the same process is underway for the Registrar of Newspapers of India. He said that the Ministry has distributed Rs 13.12 crore to 290 journalists and families of journalists under the Journalists Welfare Scheme in the last 5 years.
