PM Modi: Modi is working out of the box for the Sikh community, American businessman said this big thing about PM.

Indian-American businessman and philanthropist Darshan Singh Dhaliwal has said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is working out of the box for the Sikh community inside and outside India.


Dhaliwal has been selected as one of the 27 recipients of the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman this year. He said, ‘I think Modi is doing a lot for the Sikh community. He is doing a lot for the country, but especially for the Sikhs he is doing very special.


He has really revolutionized the way he works with the Sikh community. He said these things while talking to the media on Thursday. Dhaliwal is one of two people from the US selected for this year’s Pravasi Bharatiya Samman. It is the highest honor given by the Government of India to people of Indian origin.


The second winner of this honor is Rajesh Subramaniam, CEO of FedEx. The two, along with other winners, will be conferred with the prestigious award by the President of India during the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas in Indore from January 8 to 10.


Originally from Punjab, Dhaliwal had moved to the US in 1972. He started his business with his brothers in the gasoline and real estate sectors. He has several businesses including over 1,000 petrol pumps with annual sales of over USD 2 billion.


He said, ‘I am thankful to the Government of India for this award. I was really surprised (when I saw my name among the award winners). Dhaliwal, who left for India this week to attend the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas meeting in Indore, said, “It was surprising to me that I am getting this honour. He said, ‘I think we have got the best prime minister. We should work with them and help them achieve what they want to do. He is doing very good for the country and when India does well, we (people of Indian origin) do well.
