Piyush Goyal: Goyal met CEOs of companies and industry representatives in New York, discussed investment.
Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal interacted with CEOs of leading global companies and industry stakeholders in New York on investment opportunities and bilateral trade ties. During this, investment opportunities in India and areas to further strengthen the bilateral trade partnership with the US were also discussed. Goyal, who is on an official visit to the US, on Monday held a series of meetings with CEOs of investment and financial giants.
After a meeting with George Oliver, President and CEO of Johnson Controls, a provider of smart and sustainable building solutions, Goyal tweeted that they “exchanged views on decarbonisation and enhancing the company’s role in the development of sustainable buildings in India”.
He also discussed developing security products through research and development, Internet of Things and Artificial Intelligence. In his meeting with Stephen Schwarzman, CEO and chairman of investment management giant Blackstone, Goyal discussed expanding India’s investment landscape including infrastructure, renewable energy and green hydrogen. In a separate tweet, Goyal said they exchanged views on deepening India’s capital markets and private equity landscape.
Goyal met Mastercard CEO Michael Meibach and Henry Kravis, co-founder and co-executive chairman of global investment firm Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Company. After the meeting with Kravis, Goyal said in a tweet that they discussed attractive investment opportunities in India including infrastructure, manufacturing and startup incubators.
