Now Ambani will bring revolution in health sector! Preparing to bring a very cheap testing kit that can predict the disease.

New Delhi: Billionaire Mukesh Ambani is going to explode in the healthcare sector. The chairman of Reliance Group is preparing to bring a kit for Genome Testing. The cost of this kit will be about 86 percent less than the market. In this way Reliance is going to enter the genetic mapping business. Ambani wants to bring the healthcare trend started by American startup 23andMe to India. They want to make healthcare more affordable and comprehensive in India’s growing consumer market. Reliance Group is going to bring a comprehensive genome testing kit costing Rs 12,000 in a few weeks. This information has been given by Ramesh Hariharan, CEO of Strand Life Sciences Pvt. He has developed the product himself. Reliance Industries Limited bought this Bengaluru based firm in the year 2021. The group now holds 80 per cent stake in the company.

Reliance’s kit will be 86% cheaper

Currently, Reliance’s kit is 86 per cent cheaper than the existing genome testing kits offered by others. Hariharan said, “Through this kit, a person’s predisposition to cancer, heart attack, neuro-related diseases as well as genetic problems is brought to the fore.” From this it is already known how likely a person is to get a disease.

A treasure trove of biological data will be ready

Providing affordable personal genome mapping to India’s 140 crore people is a major step forward in the healthcare sector. This will pave the way for genome mapping of large populations of the world. This will create a wealth of biological data, which will aid in drug development and disease prevention in this area. This shows Ambani’s growing ambitions in the world of data. He has also called data the “new oil”.

Cheapest genomic profile in the world

“It will be the cheapest genomic profile in the world,” Hariharan said. We are going at an aggressive price point to make it easy to adopt. Because it will become a great business in healthcare.
