Solar Panel: 11 companies including Tata and Reliance got approval for solar panel production, the government said in the statement.
The Center on Tuesday approved 11 companies to manufacture 39,600 MW of domestic PV module solar panels. Rs 14,007 crore will be spent on these companies under the second tranche of the Production Linked Incentive Scheme. These PV module solar panels will be of high efficiency.
In a statement issued by the Central Government, it has been told that out of the total capacity of 39,600 MW, the construction of solar panels of 7400 MW capacity will start by October 2024. At the same time, the construction of solar panels of 16,800 MW capacity will start by April 2025. Manufacturing of the remaining 15,400 MW of solar panels will begin by April 2026.
The Central Government has told that under the second phase of the Solar Panel Manufacturing Scheme, an investment of about Rs 93,041 crore is expected and it will create about 1,01,487 new jobs. In this 1,01,487 employment, 35,010 people will get direct employment while 66,477 people will get indirect employment. The companies that will get the benefit of PLI scheme include Indosol, Reliance, Farsed Solar, JSW and Tata Power Solar.
