Zoom gets telecom company license in India, service will start soon across the country.
Video conferencing service provider Zoom has acquired the telecom service license for the Indian market. Now Zoom can provide telecom service across the country. Zoom Video Communication (ZVC) has also confirmed the acquisition of the license. Zoom provides video conference facility through its app and website.
Zoom Video Communications, the parent firm of ZVC India, has received the Unified License with Access-Pan India, NLD National Long Distance and ILD-International Long Distance from the Department of Telecommunications (DoT). The company has given this information through one of its statements.
Under this license, Zoom can provide Zoom Phone facility through cloud based Private Branch Exchange (PBX) which will be for Multinational Corporations (MNCs) and Business. The PBX will act as a local telephone exchange and manage conference calls. By the way, let us tell you that Zoom’s telephone service will not be like Jio and Airtel. It will be for business only.
According to the company’s statement, Zoom Phone has achieved 100 percent year-on-year growth in 2023. It has got 5.5 million users. Zoom has partnered with International Telecommunication Provider and the company is providing its telecom service in about 47 countries.
