Tata preparing to take land
Tata Sons told ET that it is soon going to start the business of semiconductor assembly testing. Let us inform that Tata Group launched Tata Electronics in 2020 for greenfield manufacturing of electronic components. According to Tata sources, the company is preparing to take land in Coimbatore, Western District of Tamil Nadu. After taking the land, the company will move towards its next step.
Signed memorandum
Tata Electronics, a subsidiary of the Tata Group, has signed a memorandum with the Tamil Nadu government in 2021 for a phone parts manufacturing unit with an investment of Rs 4,684 crore. This important step of Tata is also expected to provide employment to more than 18,000 people. If this plan of Tata becomes successful, it will become the third largest mobile parts maker in Tamil Nadu. At present, people are also getting the facilities of Taiwan’s Foxconn and Pegatron in Tamil Nadu.
