17 thousand sim cards blocked in Bihar-Jharkhand, know the reason.

The Telecom Department has deactivated 17,000 SIM cards in Bihar and Jharkhand. All these SIM cards have been identified with the help of face recognition technology based on artificial intelligence. According to the news of PTI, the users had taken more than 9 mobile connections on the SIM cards which have been closed in both the states.


Only 9 sim cards can be kept by a person


Let us tell you that a person in India can use only 9 SIM cards in his name (maximum 6 SIMs in Jammu-Kashmir, Assam, North-East). The official said that the SIM cards with these connections have been deactivated in the month of April and May.


2.30 lakh numbers have already been closed


Apart from this, let us tell you that the Department of Telecom had closed more than 2.30 lakh mobile numbers before 17 thousand SIM cards. These SIM cards were procured through forged documents. Officials say that legal action will be taken by feeding the number sellers to the subscribers.

Know why SIM cards are being blocked


The Department of Telecom, Government of India believes that fake SIM cards were activated in many circles of these states. Most of these mobile sims were issued on the basis of Aadhaar card and other identity cards of such people, who themselves were not aware of it. These SIMs were activated despite showing wrong and fake identities, whose count is more than 2.25 lakh. Now, taking a big action, the government has disabled such mobile SIM cards in Bihar and Jharkhand.
